What we about:

We offer a place for tinkerers, makers, engineers, educators, scientists, artists, hackers, and geeks in general to come collaborate, experiment, and play.

It’s a place to come try and fix that snow blower that stopped working years ago.

It’s a place to sew that button back on your shirt that you’ve avoided wearing.

It’s a place to build staging material for a local play.

A makerspace is a collaborative and community-oriented workspace providing equipment and resources. Our goal is to create, innovate, and inspire - and have fun the whole way. Makerspaces are designed to support people, from hobbyists to professionals.

In a makerspace, you can find a diverse range of tools and technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters, woodworking tools, electronics equipment, sewing machines, and more.

The Bangor Makerspace is open to members 24/7. Non-members may participate in workshops, classes, and events as they occur.

Resources

Folks always think it’s tools. I’m of the belief that people make all the difference! We do have a rather large collection of tools though. There’s no exhaustive list of tools here. If you’re curious, don’t be afreaid to ask. Maybe we can get what you need.

Hours

As a member run makerspace, we do not have regular business hours. We are open 24/7 when members are available and willing.
Discord is our primary communication channel, ask if anyone is available to give a tour, or help with a project.
Open build night is regularly scheduled chaos, every Tuesday night at 6pm.
We also have more regular events besides the open build night, although regular events outside open build night are usually more focused on specific activities. Such as:
programmer meet up, hacker meet up, book club, table top gaming, or miniature painting.
Irregular, or impromptu unscheduled events are also an occurrence subject to invite only, with the possibility of random members showing up.
